Federation of Organizations is looking for a full-time Psychiatrist to join our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team and clinic. This individual will provide psychiatric and medical assessment and treatment to individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. The Psychiatrist serves as a member of a mobile, multi-disciplinary treatment team, delivering individualized care to those in need. Responsibilities include providing clinical supervision, education, and training to the team, utilizing an evidence-based, trauma-informed approach to support participant recovery, as well as collaborating with outside care providers and referral sources.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently licensed as a physician by the NYS Education Department
  • Certified by, or eligible to be certified by, the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
  • A valid and clean NY State driver license
  • Fingerprinting, criminal record check
  • Approval from NYS Office of Mental Health
  • Knowledge of psychopharmacology, cognitive behavioral therapy, supportive psychotherapy, and psychosocial approaches for the treatment and rehabilitation of persons with severe and persistent mental illness
  • Knowledge of clinical and administrative supervision
  • Must maintain license as physician in New York State
  • Must be able to utilize agency IT programs and mobile IT software in the community

CORE & ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Responsible for monitoring recipient treatment and staff delivery of clinical services (in conjunction with the Team Leader)
  • Provide assistance in developing treatment plans in conjunction with the ACT team
  • Meet individuals in the community to provide psychiatric assessment and ongoing follow-up of medication management
  • Provide clinical supervision, education, and training to the team, while supporting and supervising the NPP
  • Responsible for the development, maintenance, and supervision of medication administration and psychiatric and medical treatment procedures
  • Participate on and share responsibility with a team that delivers an integrated array of treatment, rehabilitation and support services, customized to each individual. Attend at least 1 morning meeting weekly
  • Provide the majority of clinical services in the community and participate in a rotating 24-hour crisis coverage and response
  • Collaborate with outside care providers and referral sources to ensure proper care
  • Comply with agency Compliance Plan and False Claims Policy by preventing, detecting, and reporting any potential healthcare abuse and fraud
  • Utilize all agency-based IT applications in a proficient manner 
  • Remain current on changing developments in field of expertise
  • Other related duties

Salary: $91.00 – $105.00 per hour
