       Forensic Housing Specialist

 

LOCATION: Various locations – Brooklyn, Bronx & Queens

REPORTS TO:Program Supervisor

DEPARTMENT: Residential Services

HOURS: 35 Hours per week

 

QUALIFICATIONS:                        

Minimum requirement is a High School Diploma, BA in Human Services or CASAC and 1 year experience is preferred. An understanding and/or personal experience with the criminal justice system and/or substance abuse recovery is required. Knowledge of residential services, substance abuse services, evidence based practices, and psychiatric rehabilitation practice.   Clean valid NY State Driver’s License.  Fingerprinting, criminal record check, approval from NYS Office of Mental Health.

 

JOB FUNCTION:

Responsible for the coordination of the NYC Re-Entry Supported Housing Program including but not limited to case management services, housing supports, coordination of intakes via the OMH/CUCS Re-entry Coordination System,  and services to people with psychiatric disabilities living in scattered apartment settings who were released from the NYS Prison System and/or have high needs to maintain community living.
